You’ve totally been in this situation, yes? You get engaged (or know someone that just did), then all your other friends start hopping on the bandwagon. Angela + Karl know all about that – it’s basically why they started their planning by choosing a venue close to their hearts that was true to them to share with their guests. Pelican Inn, a historic English building on the coast just a short walk from Muir Beach was it. Rustic, sophisticated, surrounded by a breathtaking coastline and forest. Yep, sounds magical.
Beach wedding approved. These sandals are gorgeous!
Angela’s a graphic designer so obviously she couldn’t help herself when it came to designing all their printed goods. She even tried her hand at some ink drawing, as you can see on their invite.
My Mom works for a florist/event designer and so this was a no brainer to have her do the flowers. My bouquet was made of small white roses, lissianthus, freesia, blue hydrangia and ivy. She did an absolutely amazing job and she even decorated the cake with the same flowers used in my bouquet.
My advice is probably going to sound like everyone else’s advice, but that’s because it’s good advice! You really, really need to focus on simply having fun. If things become too much for you to handle, ask for help! And if this is your first experience planning an event, you should seriously consider shelling out the cash for a wedding planner. One last thing. Your fiance is probably not going to get as involved with the decisions as you might like him to. Most likely, he won’t care about the flowers. In fact, he may even ask why you need flowers at all? When this happens, just remind yourself that he is very excited about one thing for sure. He is marrying you!
Just a little tip on those burlap runners. If you are considering burlap, just keep in mind that it’s not the easiest fabric to work with. It stinks pretty badly until it airs out eventually and you’ll have fibers floating around your house everywhere. This was by far the most difficult of the projects! But in the end it was great.
So beautiful. Congratulations you two!
