We love it when you can tell what kind of wedding a couple is going to have from their wedding invitations. In this case, Amy + Tim’s wedding, captured by Kris Holland, was a casual vintage wedding with a handmade feel (just like their cute DIY invitations). They also found history and charm in their wedding venue, the Milfori House, a restored farmhouse from the 1800’s that honored their deep family roots in the gold country of California. It was exactly what they’d been looking for, and with the help of family & friends, their rustic outdoor celebration was a hit.
My bridal bouquet had “café au lait” dahlias, “embrace” dahlias, flame mini callas, ivory dahlias and craspedia pods. The stems were wrapped in a cream silk and incorporated my grandmother’s brooch. The brooch was my something blue and meant so much to me since my Grandmother had passed on. I felt like I had a bit of her with me down the aisle.
Oh hey, pretty tissue poms! If you haven’t been able to tell this week, we’re in love with these poufs. (Here are a ton more ways you can decorate your next event with tissue poms).
We were engaged for 11 months and being a major planner I started right away. I spent the engagement gathering inspiration and pinning them on Pinterest boards while trying to stay true to the theme of vintage pieces, the color scheme of yellow, orange and green, and our desire to keep the day casual, fun and true to our personalities. My biggest hurdle was the feeling that I was missing some huge, important detail. Paige, our amazing day of coordinator, kept us on task while instilling confidence in the decisions we were making. Through great referrals we ended up with vendors whom inspired us, with whom we felt comfortable with and who understood our vision.
