Does this beautiful bride look a little familiar? She’s the stylish gal behind the fashion + lifestyle blog, Could I Have That. Her wedding was a complete dream, as was her custom Monique Lhuillier dress and their venue which, sorry Santa Barbara-bound brides, is Todd’s parent’s private residence. Ever since the day Samantha realized how completely head over heels she was for Todd (while picking lemons in his parent’s orchard), she knew he was the man she would marry, and that the orchard would play as the backdrop to their wedding day. We don’t blame her. It looks like it’s straight out of a travel magazine, it’s so gorgeous.
How pretty is that flower girl’s olive branch crown?
We wanted to give our guests something meaningful and tasty. So we decided to make our own lemoncello, made with lemons we picked from the very orchard we said our vows in. We got to work months in advance, found bottles we liked and corked them. My sister made letterpress coasters that we tied to each one with a lemoncello cocktail recipe.
I found an image that I loved of a rustic wood framed structure for our reception but was blown away by the cost the rental company quoted. Todd piped in and said, “I can make that”. His friend happened to have wood from an old barn that we could use, so we ended up getting something that I loved more that was practically free.
This cake. Gorgy!
A bit of advice from Samantha: I wish I had made time to walk around the ceremony site and reception before everything started just to see it all set up and soak it all in. There were a couple of things that I didn’t even see! Thank goodness for the Arna Bee.Once you get engaged all the different options can become overwhelming. I made a collage of images and created a Pinterest board to help me form my look and vibe that I wanted. But most importantly, stop and soak it all in because it truly goes by in the blink of an eye!
So very true. Congratulations S + T!
