Catherine + Michael knew from the beginning what they wanted for their wedding: good food, good wine, and good company. They also knew what they didn’t want: a cookie cutter wedding. So when they found The Riad something just clicked. Their ceremony took place in an art studio on the beachside property, complete with cement floors, paint all over the walls, and even a crazy looking chicken painted on the wall behind the altar. (They actually didn’t know the chicken was there when they booked the venue, but they just went with it…) It all made for some pretty memorable photos by A Bear A Deer And A Fox.
Cath says, There was a flower debacle from our original supplier the day before the wedding (She sent the wrong color—pinks and oranges aren’t quite whites and ivories!). In a mad panic the bridesmaids set out to find a new florist. Flowers On The Run in Byron Bay provided the most beautiful flowers that same day. They gave us all the advice we needed to prepare our own arrangements. These ladies are wedding savers!
Ok, that dress… Pretty amazing, yes? Blush lace with champagne sequins are a winning combo.
Can you spot the chicken? We think he’s kind of cool.
Wow. You’re looking at a lime and coconut white chocolate mud cake with white chocolate ganache.
The Riad estate (in the Byron Bay in Australia) is brimming with photo ops. Not only is there that awesome art studio, but it’s right on the beach.
Some advice from the bride… Mike initially balked at the cost of the photographer (as most men do). But after seeing how well the photos turned out, he says he would have paid twice the amount we paid. Our lesson: It’s worth the money for a good photographer!
What a rad wedding! Chicken and all…
