While Kelly + Doug’s wedding doesn’t scream spring in the sense that it’s bursting with bright colors, it’s definitely a beautiful palette to be inspired by if you’re planning a romantic affair in the coming months. Pastel peaches, mints, blush- can’t go wrong with those shades, a garden venue, and having Michael Radford Photography capture it all, right?
Kelly’s bouquet recipe (that she DIY’d with her bridesmaids): Peonies, succulents, ranunculus, dusty miller, mums, and baby’s breath.
Cheers to Kelly and her bridesmaids! They stayed up the night before the wedding making those stunning bouquets from flowers purchased at the LA Flower Mart. What a sweet memory to have, right? Not to mention, big time money saver!
Want to know where they splashed the cash? We spent a majority of our budget on the venue and caterer. In my opinion, your venue can make or break your theme. When we found Maravilla Gardens, we knew we had to be married there. The grounds are beautiful, with seasonal flowers and plants to achieve a true garden feel. It is charming and picturesque with beautiful views all around. It all fit perfectly with the pastel color palette, and created a romantic setting for the entire evening. We totally agree. That landscape says it all!
Thanks for these tips Kelly! Enjoy the experience! The end of the planning process is hectic and stressful, but know that it will all be worth it. Ask for help, and take advantage when it is offered. It is impossible to do everything on your own. There will be details that won’t seem “perfect” for you, but trust the professional. Voice your opinion, but don’t stress about the littlest details because it’s not worth it. I really learned to embrace professional advice. Lastly, find a way to organize that works for you. I found that having a specific place on my computer to keep important documents, and a certain room in my house to store the goods, really gave me peace of mind. Above all else, don’t forget the reason behind the event. It is about love. It is about commitment. Stay focused on your relationship and the meaning behind the event. Trust it will be amazing!
