What do you do when you adore the idea of getting hitched in Mexico, but a destination wedding just isn’t in the cards? You bring the fiesta to you, of course! Take it from Alexa + Steve. Alexa is an art director you see, so she was able to design her dream Mexican fiesta right in her home state of Cali—complete with a taco bar, adorable mini hot sauce favors, tasty margaritas, and a mariachi band to get the party started. Kurt Boomer was there to capture it on camera for us all to see. And don’t miss the wedding speech of all wedding speeches by the groomsmen in the video at the end.

That invitation suite? The work of our very talented bride. Alexa says, I was inspired by the Mexican tiles at Casa Romantica, so I designed a pattern to print onto gold foil paper. Once the project began the gold foil started mesmerize me, and I wanted more, more, more!
Alexa describes their wedding style as “Mexican beachy prep.” That just about sums it up, doesn’t it?
Some advice from the bride… Work hard up until the week of your wedding, but then let yourself enjoy the week. Treat it as if you are on vacation with the rest of the out-of-towners. Also, take pictures together before the ceremony. I know you want that ‘first look’ moment, but you’ve spent so much money on the party. Don’t miss a second of it!
