This one oughta brighten up your morning, Cakies. Jess + Ky got engaged at an art museum, so a wedding venue like The New Children’s Museum in San Diego was a shoe-in. Jess says, We wanted the day to be a fun, happy celebration of the life we were starting together. We did our best to make the day full of joy, so we chose things like Tattly tattoos as favors and a venue with interactive exhibits.
Thanks to photog Anika London for the cheery shots.
So much DIY goodness: We did quite a few DIY projects for the wedding, but the biggest one was making all of our centerpieces and bouquets. We planned our wedding from New Mexico, so we ordered the flowers over the phone and crossed our fingers they would be as pretty as we hoped. We picked up the flowers two days before the wedding and made all of the centerpieces that night, with help from a few friends. The flowers were gorgeous, and we ended up with more than we needed. Our hotel room looked like a tiny flower shop and smelled like heaven!
A mix of pretty neutrals across the bridal party.
J + K saved jam jars during their entire engagement to use as gold centerpieces.
What lucky wedding guests to get to hang out with such a fun couple all day.
Jess says, I loved every second spent working on wedding crafts with Ky in the year leading up to the wedding. The flowers were a big undertaking, but I will never forget looking around the room and seeing some of our favorite people chatting and laughing with handfuls of flowers and petals everywhere.
Congrats, Jess + Ky!
