Brittany + Eugene had three things in mind when they set out to plan their engagement shoot: the iconic Stahl House (particularly architect Pierre Koenig’s work) the desert, and Palm Springs. The trick was channeling a bit of each element. So they visited a private residence in Joshua Tree that they could actually stay at and relax a bit before the wedding, just the two of them. A pretty good idea, if you ask us! As for the e-sesh, the talented Brandon Kidd met them to snap these mid-century, Stahl inspired engagement photos in Joshua Tree:
Eugene says, We love being out amongst nature, while being able to appreciate other pleasures such as fancy dinners and nights out together. Our outfits with the suit and the dress played into that a bit, and there was something truly magical about being able to capture it as the sun was going down.
The days before the actual shoot we were able to really take in the peace and quiet of the space, and be one with each other. The property was solar-powered, and water was limited. Being able to cook for each other and experience a true off-the-grid experience is something we can treasure forever. Nothing beats the stresses of the preparation than a well-deserved R&R, with some bangin’ photos to boot!
How about this view?!
Love the black outfits against this desert backdrop.
So romantic. Congrats you guys!
