Wesley & Emma, the duo behind W&E Photographie, say they’ve never seen rain ruin a wedding. And if you happen to be exchanging vows next to a lake surrounded by mountains and trees in North Carolina, a little drizzle may actually sweeten the day a bit.
About the venue, c/o W&E Photographie, Cashiers, NC is nestled deep in the blue ridge mountains and it’s full of amazing views, tasty eats, and quirky antique shops. High Hampton Inn & Country Club gushes rustic charm and has the feel of a camp for grown-ups… Dirty dancing, anyone? The foggy, crisp mornings, mountain views, and sprawling dahlia garden were enough to get us scheming about how we could stay at the inn permanently.
Lauren and Alex enlisted the talented Jacki Gil of Salt & Paperie for many of the graphics: Invitations, programs, bar menu, flower toss, glowstick send off, polaroid, cornhole coards, the writing on the time capsule, this directional sign, and more.
So here’s what they meant about the mountain scenery… Wow.
One of Lauren’s favorite memories: When the sun came out during our ceremony. Alex and I both exchanged looks during hoping that it wouldn’t downpour on everyone! When the sun came out just as we were getting pronounced, it just felt perfect. So many people were involved in making our day shine, and Alex and I are so grateful and so thankful to all of our vendors and for all of our family and friends who traveled in.

How pretty is this cake from Just Crumbs? The cake topper, ‘thanks y’all’ sign, bridesmaids’ monograms, and more charming signage are from Olivia Lane Designs.
For Lauren + Alex, a weekend wedding with everyone they loved together, surrounded by the mountains was a no brainer. They love that they now have a place to come visit in the future. So sweet! Congrats, guys!
