How gorg is that Dreamers & Lovers crochet dress?! Want. All of these photos by KT Crabb Photography show off the time and effort E + T poured into 8 months of planning in order to make their big day handcrafted, colorful, and a tribute to their awesome fam + friends. See what we mean:
Their sweet first look, shared with everyone…
A community art installation by artists Noa Meri + Tali Buckler in 2012 inspired their wedding design. They began recreating the hoops 2 months after Trevor proposed, and for 8 months they completed the braids with the help of family and friends. E says, The guests knew that they had a part in all of the hoops, which I hope made them feel special. The hoops gave a feeling of consecration, commitment, and community.
One of their fave moments: A prayer circle at the end of the wedding, where their grandfathers (both ministers), family, and friends formed a circle around them for a prayer of protection over their future together. So sweet.
They didn’t hire a wedding planner; instead, Eleanor + her mom blended their styles together: We have very different styles, my mother’s is a clean Southern Style, not complicated or cluttered, mine is more of a natural, earthy style, lending to a comfortable and easy atmosphere. It was a very close friend, Kevin Elliott, for whom we give the credit in blending both styles. Kevin did it with consideration to both my mother and me, but he set boundaries to keep it cohesive in thought and expression, we coined it “Earthy Southern”. We loved it.
Cuties! More in our gallery below…
Eleanor’s advice: Take time to do things together as an engaged couple, while you’re in planning process. Don’t just rush the getting married part.
Congratulations!
