Sometimes a photographer is inspired by a location, sometimes by a theme… There’s always a muse in there somewhere. For Ana Lui Photography, seeing the unique, colorful bridal collection by Maria Lluïsa Rabell immediately evoked dreams of the Ibiza countryside: a natural setting to bring out each piece’s colors and light to filter through the fabrics. And of course, bright flowers made the best accessories.
Dress designer Maria Lluïsa Rabell creates easy, fresh pieces that Ana + Danielle knew would shine in a setting like Ibiza’s countryside. (Destination wedding, anyone? Just a thought!)
Another tousled hairstyle by Louise Maxwell…
Ana says, When I saw Maria’s pieces I knew they would go incredibly well with stunning olive and fig trees, green, bold cactuses and colourful flowers picked by Danielle. We decided to shoot at Danielle Hodgson-Lindley’s farmhouse near Sant Carles. I shot this session entirely on Contax 645 and Fuji Film. I wanted to get the perfect skin tone and soft, grainy look that beautifully shows Maria’s dresses.
Rabell’s website says the dresses convey an ‘informal elegance’ for each original bride. We’re definitely into that—chic and sophisticated, colorful and playful, the best of both worlds.
