Hello and happy Monday! Hopefully those of you with not-so-sunny weather in the forecast can think of this Palm Springs wedding as a little break from the cold? Rosa, a publicist at HBO, + Jonathan, Entrepreneur in Residence at Thirty Labs, are just so stylish. All you need to see are her sleek black Burberry heels + his designer duds to wonder what magic they worked on the iconic Frederick Loewe Estate. Allow these images by Michael Radford Photography (who also recommended a few of their lovely vendors) to quell your curiosity!
Who doesn’t want to steal her style?
Being modernists, Palm Springs was an obvious choice. They wanted cool colors, straight lines, and succulents (duh!)… An “interplay of stark modernism + native organic”. The Frederick Loewe Estate was such a no brainer for their intimate 80-person guest list that they actually booked it before they visited.
R + J’s advice: Plan the details, but leave something to be surprised by. We made so many small choices and really thought through the details but had only given a mood board to Megan Gray of Honey & Poppies. Planning each detail allowed us to be calm during the ceremony and reception because we knew everything that was happening, but the real treat was seeing the flower arrangements for the first time.
Jon designed the invites + menus that had stickers, words about the venue, and illustrations of local hotels. They’d also collected photobooth photos of friends for 7 years to display at the wedding and made table numbers out of mounted photos. They printed the numbers + posed for photos to place at each table too.
Parting words: Rosa remembers being very nervous when guests started arriving at the estate. She also didn’t want the guests to see her prematurely and the estate has these large glass windows. Jon and his groomsmen surrounded her and walked her over to a room, where one of the groomsmen sat with her to ease her nerves. The best part of weddings is the communal love, and it was so strong and heartfelt. Her ‘maids + fam were also always by her side, fixing her dress, getting flowers for photos, and everyone in the party whispered encouraging words.
Congratulations to Jon + Rosa!
