If you love coastal weddings or events with a timeless feel you are in for a serious treat on this Friday. A + C both work at The Soda Bar in San Diego (she’s the general manager + he’s the talent buyer, not to mention a drummer in two bands), and they chose The Thursday Club, a 1920s venue that overlooks Sunset Cliffs, to say I do. With white walls, wood floors, and that killer view, it only seems fitting that the team at would To La Lune Events whip up something just as magical for the design.
Thanks to Aimee The Hearts Haven for the photos!
How cute is the flower girl all decked out in Marchesa?
Their theme? Modern simplicity with vintage touches. Angie says, We used lots of neutral colors to create a simple clean décor but added vintage accents (flatware & champagne glasses, wooden chairs, and marble serving platters) to bring warmth to the space. We used our music to help establish this vibe too. Our DJ played all 50’s & 60’s vinyl. We were also inspired by vintage French style, which is my family heritage.
To La Lune Events will paint a picture for ya: Plenty of Petals brought in greenery reminiscent of Angie’s affinity for the French countryside through the stunning table garlands + vines that hung whimsically from our custom created wood escort card backdrop. Pops of soft peaches + blush shown romantically throughout all the lovely bouquets, floral arrangements, and garlands.Angie, on planning in five months: My grandma is 95 and didn’t think she would be up for long distance travel much longer so we rushed things to make sure she could be there to celebrate with us. Having her at the wedding was so important to us that it was totally worth the hurried planning but it’s pretty challenging to have such a short timeline! A lot of vendors and venues were already booked when we started our search but in the end we couldn’t have been happier with all our vendors and the location!
One of their fave memories was when the music got the whole room dancing. They had put together their own wedding band with Cory’s current and former bandmates, who performed 50s + 60s tunes. Angie’s dad, also a musician, joined in and sang a song too!
Cheers to Angie + Cory!
