Utter the words ‘golden hour’ and ‘wedding’ in the same sentence and you’ve captured our attention for sure. Toss in a collection of vintage bridal wear and one of the dreamiest mountaintop settings and we really can’t look away. LB Events + Details, Darling collaborated on a series of wedding portraits and ceremony ideas inspired by a single song. We’ve got part I of Scott Clark’s images, plus the story below…
Kiersten of LB Events says, The song “Awake My Soul” by Mumford and Sons was the true inspiration behind this free-spirited shoot. The vendor team wanted to create something much like the song—a song that has lyrics that reach deep into your soul and a melody that evokes all kinds of good feels. The goal between all the vendors was to create beauty from simplicity. The location was truly something unique—the winding, twisting, unending road that leads up to Great Spirits Ranch seemed daunting at first, but there was a collective sigh of “ohhhhhh” upon arrival. The view is simply breathtaking. It’s one of those places that you feel like you’ve searched for your whole life, so there’s an immediate sense of peace once you are there.

Like we said, this Malibu backdrop sure is dreamy… The setting could not have been more perfect for our natural feel. Wisps of dried vines and the lush shrubs that covered the mountainside perfectly blended with our neutral color palette of green, ivory, and shades of oak.
How is this a real place?! Sigh.

PS: Tomorrow we’re featuring the other half of this shoot, so stay tuned.
