Naturally when one hosts a Taco Party for her friends, she absolutely must provide a signature cocktail. AMIRIGHT?! Like this tasty update to the a classic Margarita… the Mezcal Mai Tai.
Mezcal Mai Tai
(serves one)
1.5 oz Mezcal
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz Orange Curacao
.5 oz Orgeat
Citrus Salt (recipe follows)
Citrus Salt
To make citrus salt, grate the zest of a lemon and a lime with a microplane grater. Stir the zest into salt and let it sit for 10 minutes (to allow the oils from the citrus to coat the salt).
Rim a rocks glass (like the Lulie Stemless Martini Glass) with the citrus salt. Shake the mezcal, lime, curacao, and orgeat with ice in fancy cocktail shaker and strain over ice into the salt-rimmed glass.
So refreshing and festive, no?
