Happy Friday, Cakies! Amanda here. I’m back sharing some more of our trip to Greece last month, to send you into this summer weekend. If you missed part 1 in East Peloponnese and Athens, you can check it out here.
Our second stop: Milos! After seeing too many unbelievable photos of this island on Pinterest, I had to check it out in person. We took a small plane 45 minutes from Athens to Milos. And what we found there was out of this world. Literally. The surface of the moon!
Our adventure continued, driving all around this island, stopping at secluded beaches and getting lost in the windy road towns. The joy of happening upon a crystal blue cove in the middle of nowhere is immeasurable. With 75 beaches on this island, it’s easy to feel like you’re the only person there.
Sarakiniko Beach was a game-changer. White, chalky rock in organic shapes with crevices revealing slivers of bright blue water.. we couldn’t believe our eyes.
See what I mean, the MOON, right?
I promise this place is real. No photoshopping here, folks.
Papapfragas Beach is yet another magical beach on the island. A small, swimmable cove with a cave tunnel to the sea. Too many beaches, too little time.
Below is a photo of our digs at the Melian Hotel, which I’d highly recommend. Perfectly all white buildings, plenty of colorful flowers and the bestest views.
It’s still hard to believe we were there. One of the most memorable spots we have ever been to, and likely will ever experience. We’ll definitely be back. Next stop: Santorini! Come back on Monday for the full recap.
Have a super weekend!
