Ask us what we love about C + J and we’ll tell you this: these two had a vision for their big day, and they stayed true to it. They wanted an intimate fall wedding and didn’t stray from that dream. With a small guest list—23 to be exact—and a family-style dinner instead of a big fancy reception, that original dream came true for $15,000 at the coziest venue they could find. Of course, that didn’t stop them from adding a little glam in here and there. That’s what the season is all about, right?
Thanks to Kati Rosado Photography for sharing!
A little groom style inspiration for ya…
Courtney says, Two of our biggest priorities for our wedding were that we had a great photographer and that we were comfortable and familiar with everyone there. Kati Rosado and I went to the same small high school, so she knew most of our guests and we were comfortable with her. We also had seen her photography for years, so we knew that her style fit our vision. Plus, she’s just as obsessed with Savannah as we are, so that helped too!
Instead of walking down an aisle, they stood by the fireplace while guests came in and sat on couches around them. This scene is especially spectacular considering their date was December 27th!
On The Carriage Wine Cellar at The Mansion on Forsyth Park… Having such a small venue actually turned out to be a huge advantage when it came to planning—it kept us focused on keeping the ceremony and dinner intimate rather than getting overwhelmed by throwing a big party. We also loved that it had the perfect long table to fit all of us around. It was really just like sharing an amazing dinner with all of our favorite people instead of a “reception”.
Instead of writing our own vows, we decided to do a reading of the children’s book “I Like You” by Sandol Stoddard Warburg. The book is very special to us and we can never read it without crying, so of course we both cried!
Congrats you two!
