If you’ve been digging all the dreamy fall wedding inspiration we’ve had up lately, you’ll die for K + J’s Catskills wedding. We mean, it rained the morning of and left clouds lingering over the valley all day. Jeff even had hand warmers waiting for Katie when she met him at the altar! Carina of Love Me Do Photography was there (with soaked boots and frozen toes) to capture their vintage eclectic style—plaid jackets, vintage décor, Etsy finds, and all.

So fun.

They both have creative jobs and love to design, so they took on most projects themselves. Katie says, Jeff and I are both collectors of random things, so creating a visual system of seemingly unrelated patterns and textures was a natural choice. Jeff has always loved all things vintage and the majority of his wardrobe consists of vintage plaid shits. When he dresses up, a vintage plaid jacket is always part of the ensemble so we knew plaid would be a big part of the theme. My taste tends to lean towards the modern geometric and bold. While I am a lover of all things midcentury and modern, I am drawn to human elements that add warmth and personality to otherwise clean materials.

Doesn’t their style fit in flawlessly with the fall scenery at the Spruceton Inn? They’re both from upstate New York, currently living in NYC, so this was a weekend getaway for them + their guests.

Btw, Katie’s lovely short wedding dress is from Cleo & Clementine… You might’ve seen them on Etsy.
Katie shared a few fave moments…
• We did a whiskey ceremony by pouring un-aged corn whiskey into a 2-liter barrel. We completed that activity with a high five before our vows.
• It was an unseasonably cold day (thanks to a cold front brought by hurricane Joaquin). When I got up to the altar and took Jeff’s hands, he had a hand warmer in there. We held hands the whole time.
• Before the ceremony as the guests were being seated (there were campfires and hot apple cider with rum served to keep everyone warm) I was sitting in my dad’s truck with him, and my 4-year old nephew (one of the ring bearers) joined us to keep warm.
• Seeing my 90-year old grandmother wrapped in blankets during our ceremony.
Cheers!
