When you have guests traveling far and wide for your wedding, you want them to see your most special places and moments. Claire grew up spending summers at Stinson Beach and loves West Marin, CA, so she + Jim wanted to share that space with their 140 guests, many that traveled from England, where he’s from. Location is a pretty important aspect in any event, but with out of town guests + Claire being a cartographer, it held even more meaning. Thanks to Kate Harrison for sharing all the lovely details…
An organic, full bouquet recipe: olive branch, white dahlia, majolica rose, explosion grass, eucalyptus, plumosa fern, deer fern, wild carrot, heather, wax flower, cotoneaster, panicle hydrangea
Gillian of Gillian Shenon Event Production says, Claire wanted more of a utilitarian look and feel for her wedding aesthetic: simple vessels to drink from on crisp white linens, with black chairs in sharp contrast. She wished for the flowers to be foraged more than bought, and enlisted Ellen Kyle of Found & Created for this task. All floral materials used were locally grown or foraged from the San Francisco Bay Area. She used plumosa ferns to tie back the drapery, swagged asymmetrically alongside the cake display, and also draped the chandeliers and front of the head table.
Their wedding colors were natural white + grays layered with greenery throughout. Gillian + the team knew this would be so elegant in front of the late summer sun.
How stunning is this reception scene?
Best wishes, Claire and Jim!
