Continuing with our lovely rose quartz + serenity theme (you caught this morning’s vintage editorial featuring Pantone’s colors, right?) we’ve got more stunning pink + blue hues. Michelle DT Photography + the rest of the Cape Town based team had a modern approach for this palette—think watercolors, acrylic, and two piece wedding gowns.
Isn’t this invitation suite incredible? Oh Yay used vintage stamps + calligraphy to mimic old love letters.
Structured lines were used in the Elaine Blom dresses to emphases the different shapes and forms in and around the location. Because of the neutrals, the trendy rose quartz was added in to create a balance between beauty and distress. This leaves one in a peaceful mindset and creates a hopeful feeling in one’s heart.
The location they shot at was once teeming with life, but is now experiencing the aftermath of a fire and the new life that comes from it. You can see how starting fresh and building life anew might be channeled for a wedding, yeah?
The idea was to create a tablescape that will blend into the landscape rather than fight with it. We settled on ghost chairs, ghost table and even used glass candelabras to continue with the transparent elements. A simple green runner provided contrast against the burnt landscape without competing with it. Grey perspex cutlery and stemless wine glasses finished off each table setting but was elevated with beautiful pantone colour stationary, rose quartz stones and long movable serviettes.The oversized bouquet consisted out of local Fynbos, leaves, burnt branches, celosia and white stems.
