When The Parker Palm Springs is one of your fave getaway spots as a couple, there’s no way it wouldn’t cross your mind when planning the wedding. As soon as Kelvin + Stephanie got engaged, they knew Palm Springs had to be shared with their friends and fam (90 guests), so the location was a no brainer. PS: We’re so happy K + S found their photographer Rebecca of Birds of a Feather on 100LC!
They wanted the design to feel classic with modern undertones and a color story of deep crimson, gold, black + white, and greens. Stephanie says, We drew a ton of inspiration from being in Palm Springs along with the beautiful vibe of The Parker. There’s so much Old Hollywood glam but also a casual, modern vibe. The other piece that influenced a lot of the theme was my wedding dress by Amsale. I loved how from the front it was a very classic, glamorous silhouette but the back was a very modern and unique twist. All still very clean and timeless. We then tried to infuse our personality and personal touches by including fun stats about us in the program and on cocktail napkins.
We’re thrilled that our couple found their dream photog Birds of a Feather on our site!
The bouquet: garden roses, crimson peonies, ranunculus, eucalyptus, and other seasonal greens, tied up in a dusty rose velvet ribbon.
Stephanie’s DIY projects: I designed and printed all the day of paper goods including programs, menus, table cards and place cards. I also designed our monogram and cocktail napkins. Kelvin and I saw an idea of having animal table names so we hand painted and carved each of the cardholders and the frames to hold the table numbers. I also designed the monogram stamp we used for the takeaways. We’re big coffee lovers so I worked with our local favorite coffee roaster to purchase a bulk order of coffee then made our own takeaway bags for everyone.
Did we mention that the wedding party walked down to Mariah Carey’s Always Be My Baby and the bride walked down to Boyz II Men’s On Bended Knee? They love those 90s R&B hits! Their first dance to an acoustic version of Beyonce’s Crazy in Love covered by Daniela Andrade sounds pretty great too.

It look us a little less than a year to plan. We locked in all the big pieces pretty early on then worked on all the DIY projects as we got closer to the wedding. Get a wedding planner if you can afford to. I’m a very organized and on-top-of-it type of person but having someone dedicated to knowing vendors, having good recommendations, and there to mediate conversations was completely worth it. We loved Twine Events and are so happy we went with her full service package.
Wishing you the best!
