You all know how much we love Alexis of The Shift Creative’s rad installations and designs, right? We posted tons of examples when we covered her shop’s launch party last year. She recently launched a summer workshop series where she teaches one each month in different spots all around. This one captured by Jackie Wonders at Brick + Laurel in San Diego was all about macramé wall hoops.
Macramé inspired cake by Hey There, Cupcake… Too cute.
Alexis explains, My goal in hosting these workshops is to gather women of all ages and talents and have them immersed in a creative environment where they can learn something new, challenge themselves, meet new friends and connect with old ones. It is meant to be a time of exploration and connection. Each girl walks away with new knowledge and a completed piece. For this workshop, we designed and created macramé wall hoops.
The Cheese Store of San Diego delivered the prettiest cheese boards complete with stems of lavender and pistachios. It was the perfect bite to snack on! Lift Coffee Roasters provided cold brew coffee, carbonated tea, and loose leaf tea so we could sip while we create. They always deliver high quality! Strewn throughout the venue were florals by Catalina Neal who is such a talent. Brick and Laurel is actually where she makes all her flower magic happen!
Magic in the making!
They also had a hybrid macramé and weaving hanging behind the dessert table and this fun yarn backdrop for photo opps.
