We thought we’d ring in the Friday before the 4th of July with something that’s seriously ALL fun: a retro roller skating birthday bash. At Lombardi House, no less. Birthday-gal-slash-event-designer Peggy of Fire and Creme says, Living in Venice + born in 1976, we thought it would be fun to throw a roller disco party for my 40th birthday. Roller skates are back in fashion and there is something really glamour and vintage that we love about it. We also got inspired by the movie Roller Boogie shot entirely in Los Angeles in 1978. The music, the outfits, everything calls for dancing and fun.
This first shot by Love Bucket Photo is pretty epic, but it gets even better…
They had a little skate renting station for guests, but naturally quite a few of them brought their own.
The lounge was casual and cozy using piled palettes for coffee tables and vintage Moroccan rugs and poufs that were a mix of our inventory and Found Vintage Rentals. All coffee tables had little bags stamped with roller skates and contained some of my favorite French candies, Carambar, and Haribo.
They went with a late 70s color palette of orange, fuchsia, yellow, blue, and just a hint of gold. Obviously guests dressed the part!
Can’t miss this Croque-en-Bouche from Maison Richard below, either…
Wishing you all a weekend as fun as this party!
