If you love intimate gatherings and outdoor dining, there’s a good chance you’d consider a backyard wedding for the big day. Your closest pals, a few simple, strategic decor pieces, and a romantic dinner under the lights? We love it all, which is why when Deidra of Blush & Bashful sent this inspiration captured by Chandra’s Collection our way, we knew she’d be just the gal to ask about how to throw a backyard wedding. Thanks, D!
First things first, gotta string those cafe lights! They loved how it sets a laidback but intimate mood.
Remember the pretty invites by ChrissyMakes above? These watercolor place cards are a fun DIY to carry the theme over to the table, and they make it more special and intimate.
As far as food… To keep with the at-home feel (while saving major $$$) serve cheese, fruit, and crackers on rustic wood serving boards. Doing this kept it simple while adding texture to the table. Deidra also suggests serving Italian sodas or sangria with fresh seasonal fruit to add a pop of color.
Matching drinks? Yes please.
Antique candlesticks and vessels add height to the table too.
Isn’t using *the* cake as a centerpiece a pretty genius way to add interest?
Remember, candles aren’t just for the table! They’re a great way to add more decor without breaking the bank. Flip through the gallery below for more ideas:
