Did you all catch our day of the dead party earlier? (If you’re looking for colorful party ideas, better open a new tab!) Since we went the super vibrant route this morn, it seemed only fitting to kick off the weekend before Halloween with a dark, moody, and unconventional editorial from A Sea of Love + Keestone Events fit for the bride + groom who want to break the mold.
This dreamy bundle of blooms would be the work of root + bloom floral design.
Tzahhia of Keestone Events explains, Our goal was to create a deep, passionate feel with an edge. To balance out the darker tones, Brik Venue worked perfectly with its rugged brick walls and large windows, which brought in a lot of natural light. This really helped by adding dimension to the darker colors of the shoot. To marry edge with romance, a color palette of deep burgundy, plum tones, accented with mixed metals was selected. Soft napkins, ribbon and a flowy magnolia and eucalyptus garland helped cut through the darker lines of gold mid-century vases and matte black bowls.
And can we just say? This killer Free People dress is still available in black for those of you looking for an affordable black wedding dress ($250!), AND it comes in a blush-y lilac if that’s more your style. Yes and yes!
The lace details in the dress also inspired Whisk Until Sweet‘s edgy cake.
Happy weekend, Cakies!
