Big news on the wedding dress front! Barcelona-based Otaduy not only just launched their new collection, but it’s officially in the US for the first time at Solstice Bride. To celebrate, they hooked up with Melissa Gidney Photography for a shoot featuring everything from wildflowers to disco balls and dance parties.
The I Do collection was inspired by the glitz and glam of the seventies, with glamour and disco being her two main sources of inspiration. Each piece is inspired by designer Carolina’s world travels, love of music, and mission to pack tons of personality in each delicate, handmade piece.
Otaduy is already a European bridal favorite, so having a place to see them *in real life* at Solstice Bride here in Venice, CA is major.
Of The Flowers was behind the saturated, wildflower-inspired floral installations.A few notes on the designer… Carolina Otaduy was born in San Sebastian in 1979 but has been living and working in Barcelona for years now. These two cities open to the sea have shaped Carolina’s life and work, although her restless nature has inspired her to travel around the world and to live in New York, where she came up with the idea to launch her own bridal fashion firm: Otaduy… Through this highly personal project she, as a designer, has created her own world imbued with her sensitivity and bravery, her search for calm and fascination with risk.
All Otaduy wedding gowns are handmade by women in Barcelona for women around the world. We have a feeling we’ll be seeing some real brides in these gowns in no time!
