Don’t know about you, but whenever we see rainy weddings like Amanda + Cody’s, we’re always left with that feeling that *everything turned out just as it should*. It’s certainly not something they anticipated when planning their outdoor ceremony at The 1909 in Topanga Canyon, but the whole day ended up being a perfect reflection of them and their quirky-cool moody fall style. See what we mean by perusing Mandee Johnson Photography‘s photos in the post!

Amanda explains, We brought things from our home like all the skulls, kewpies, and photobooth stripes that represent us well and our love of collecting old and macabre things. We love darker tones, almost gothy, but also romantic and timeless so the for the flowers we were both super into over the top tonal arrangements. We also wanted nature to play the biggest part in the decor, so the venue was perfect for that.
The bridal bouquet recipe: cream Piaget garden roses, quicksand roses, majolica spray roses, antique hydrangea, silver dollar eucalyptus, olive branches, lacey dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus, king protea, acacia, wax flower, astrantia, magenta hydrangea, and olive branches
Amanda is a graphic designer, and she was behind their invitations, seating chart, photo booth stripe, welcome signs, and schedule cards for guests.

Their fave moments…
Amanda says, For me it was standing at the altar, it was the moment when it really hit me the most that it was actually happening. Seeing his face while I was reading my vows and hearing his vows, it was all just priceless. Also looking out at all our guests, crying, laughing, feeling the misty rain on my face, seeing the trees and flowers all around us. I was so in the moment I forgot to say “I do”. I think we even high fived at one point.
Cody says, The first look was most memorable for me, seeing Amanda in her dress and not caring about the rain or anything else around us.
Congratulations, Cody + Amanda!
