Hi, sweet wedding venue! Isn’t this chapel Ashton Gardens in Texas the loveliest? With its white and wood walls and impressive natural light, it’s (not surprisingly) what sold Tyler + McKinley on the venue. From there, they gave their 375-guest celebration a romantic tropical flair, as inspired by the playful bridesmaid dresses Hannah Mayson Photo captured below:
Their style is natural, floral, tropical and light. They wanted it to be beautiful and unique, but also fun and playful for everyone.
McKinley says, I saw some floral bridesmaid dresses on Pinterest and instantly fell in love. The colors were bright and simple, not too busy, and perfect for a summer wedding. All the other decor and aspects of the wedding, such as the flowers, linens, place cards, were built around the floral bridesmaid dresses.
The bridal bouquet recipe: king protea, coral charm peonies, apricot ranunculus, distant drum roses, blushing bride protea, jasmine, elaeagnus, quicksand roses, romantic antique garden roses, white majolica roses, and southern smilax.
All the guys were decked out in classic black tuxes for a sophisticated look.
The whole day was a dream and we loved every second of it, but the part that stuck out most to me was when we started to make our exit after Tyler and I were pronounced husband and wife. When I had walked into the Ashton Gardens chapel at the beginning of the ceremony, I was only looking at Tyler, I didn’t really think to look around at everyone else. So when we faced the crowd to walk out of the chapel I teared up all the way down the aisle. I was blown away by the amount of family and friends that had piled into the pews and the balcony to come celebrate with us. It ended up hitting me all at once how blessed and loved and supported we are, I was very thankful, just so very thankful.
Our bride’s friend Atlee Marek is a talented calligrapher, and was behind all of the DIY projects for the day, from the welcome sign to the place cards. They personalized the cards with corals, pinks, and light orange for little pops of color.
A few final words, on finding their photographer: Hannah was the roommate of one of my dear friend’s sisters. She recommended Hannah to me and I loved how joyful and lively her pictures were, they weren’t posed or stiff. You could see the love and light through her lens and it made me so happy. I also loved how bright and natural her pictures were, the colors were warm and matched the tone and style of our wedding.
We have to say, Hannah and everyone below seems like the perfect fit for this wedding in Dallas! Congrats, M + T!
