Who here loves a good all-white wedding? Ali + Bryan’s rustic modern nuptials at Biddle Ranch, as designed by Beijos Events and captured by Megan Welker, are such a prime example of just how good ‘less is more’ can be. Ali’s a huge fan of neutrals, and they both wanted their wedding to come off as sophisticated, yet laidback. Always a lovely combo when executed as perfectly as this:
Ali’s Enzoani gown, Christian Louboutin heels, and custom leather jacket (handpainted by Brian Kaspr) totally channels the whole laidback yet sophisticated concept we mentioned above, no?
And aren’t these vow books so, so pretty?
Ali says, We wanted a celebration that was both sophisticated and laidback. It felt like we invited all of our closest friends and family to spend the evening with us in our backyard. From writing our own vows to serving dinner family style, the entire day was so intimate. For almost all of our 120 guests, San Luis Obispo was a destination and we wanted everyone to understand why it was so special to us. With that in mind, great food and even better wine was particularly important!
We’ve seen so many printed Show Me Your Mumu bridesmaids lately, but this classic neutral is a personal fave.
We found Megan Welker when we saw her images from another wedding that took place at Biddle Ranch. All of her images are absolutely stunning. She is the first photographer we met and it was just so easy and comfortable. I knew right away that I couldn’t imagine anyone else capturing our day. Bryan and I wanted photos that reflected the candid and natural moments and Megan never forced us into poses that didn’t feel comfortable. It was honestly like spending the day with another (amazingly talented) friend!
Our ceremony was a true highlight of the day. We worked closely with my uncle, who is a pastor and officiated for us, to plan a ceremony that was traditional, sentimental, and personal. I surprised my parents by walking down the aisle with my Dad to their first dance song (We’ve Only Just Begun by The Carpenters). For a twist on the traditional unity ceremony, we wrote letters to each other on the morning of our wedding day to read in five years (we plan to replace the letters every five years throughout our marriage). During the ceremony we placed the letters in a box and nailed it shut. My uncle, who is woodworker, built the gorgeous box and we used my great grandfather’s hammer for the nails. I can’t wait to be transported back to that day when we finally open the box!
Love the simplicity of the olive branch place settings here.
Perfectly neutral dessert spread, check!
