Morning, Cakies! Have any of you taken advantage of our exclusive bridesmaids promo with BHLDN yet? After perusing all the dreamy deets that Emily of mStarr design incorporated into Vicky + Ran’s Hawaii wedding, you’ll definitely have romantic gowns on the mind. No way around it! Vicky has a serious eye for detail, and she and Emily made sure their celebration at the ever-gorgeous Puakea Ranch completely embraced their romantic, botanical vision. Thanks to O’Malley Photographers for sharing the photos!
Graceline Art was behind all the vintage botanical inspired paper details.Fun fact: Vicky + Ran weren’t originally planning a wedding in Hawaii, being from the New England area. But once they thought about how so many of their 40 guests were coming from China and Hawaii would be a good halfway point, they never looked back.
Emily of mStarr design says, The Puakea Ranch property offers a number of Hawaiian-style bungalows for guests to stay at, animals (including white horses available for photos), a tree lined driveway, a “kissing” tree perfect for a ceremony, a pool, incredible views of the island/ocean, and an open-air pavilion for the reception. It typically doesn’t rain much in Hawaii but the morning of the wedding, the skies opened up and off-and-on showers continued throughout the day. Thankfully by the time first look pictures and ceremony began, we caught a break and everything proceeded as planned.
They enlisted Wild Folk Studio on creating these soft, ethereal florals throughout.
Vicky’s *insanely sweet* fave moment… Our first-look for sure. Ran was trying very hard not to cry but my favorite moment is the during night before. We were so tired at the end of that day (picking up family from airport, rehearsal, dinner with everyone…). After everyone had gone for bed, we went out to the pavilion where our reception would be to practice our first dance for one last time. There was no outdoor lighting at the ranch and we had to use our iPhones as a flashlight. We danced in the dark singing Love Me Tender. Never felt so close to each other.
Candy is a traditional Chinese wedding favor (it represents the sweetness of the couple with guests), so they packaged Sugarfina in little test tubes and sealed with cork.
Onto the tablescape, where they carried their vintage botanical theme throughout each and every detail.
Soooo, so dreamy!
And this seating chart. Isn’t it incredible?
As you might’ve guessed from our intro, Vicky wore a floral embellished BHLDN gown + her bridesmaids were adorned in Jenny Yoo. Ran found the perfect classic suit to complement them, from J. Crew.
There’s so many details to see, so be sure to flip through out inspiration gallery below:
Ran proposed in Greenland near the north pole. We were doing a snowmobile ride with local villagers. We stopped at this little hill for photos but my phone died. I asked him to use his phone to take a phone for me. At that time, his phone was in my hand, and I tried to hand it over to him. He didn’t seem to be listening to me because he was trying to search for something in his jacket pocket. And I was like, “Hey, what are you doing? Your phone is here”. Then he took out a box and opened it! It was so quiet in the snowy mountains of Greenland, and nobody saw his proposal but nature.
Okay, cutest love story ever. Congrats, you two!
