It’s always fun to walk into the weekend on a celebratory note (isn’t that what Friday is all about?!), which is why we’ve got this cozy autumn dinner Alison Events Planning + Design dreamt up for photography duo Norman & Blake‘s launch party for you today. Lisa of The Wedding Artists Collective and Shannen + Emily of Norman & Blake brought together their San Francisco industry pals to celebrate at the Upstairs at Central Kitchen. We’re thinking Jesse’s modern fall tablescape will inspire a dinner party or two… Not to mention the light at this venue—so so good!
Studio Mondine captures our hearts again with these arrangements.About Shannen & Emily of Norman & Blake… Shannen and Emily have over 16 years of combined experience in professional photography, and have worked across the globe in places like New York, Paris, France, Greece, and Thailand. Their work has appeared in Martha Stewart, Brides, Vogue, The Knot, Flutter, and Darling Magazine, along with a number of online publications. After photographing several events together, Shannen and Emily realized the value of having two unique sets of experienced eyes covering the day, and the resulting images proved to be rich and complementary. They decided to combine their skillsets by forming a partnership in early 2017, and now run Norman & Blake from their Arts District studio in Los Angeles.
Love these elegant paper designs by Yonder Design.
Jesse wanted the table design to feel like a unique reflection of fall with orange and rust, along with pink and gray for a fresh and feminine feel.
About The Wedding Artists Collective… Curated and managed by Lisa Ashley, The Wedding Artists Collective is a group of photographers and filmmakers offering wedding, engagement and celebration documentation. We are also the creators of the annual industry retreat, Collective Gatherings. From her Northern California office, Lisa promotes the artists’ work, manages calendars, responds to initial inquires and handles contracts and billing, freeing up the artists to do what they love and do best—make beautiful photos and films!
Jesse says. We tied in the acrylic in the flatware on the table, and gave the room a clean energy keeping all the plates white washed, but with interesting mix and matched terracotta patterns with texture from Theoni Collection. We pulled the grey of the velvet address belly band from the invite into the table by using a contemporary smoke glass tumbler, also from Theoni Collection. Pattern, color and texture were all deepened, and the event was made even more cozy with beautiful velvet pillows in the color palette or steel, pink and rose, from La Tavola Fine Linens. All in all the event felt like the fall season, while still having an effortless modern feminine feel that was light and airy while still feeling rich and organic.
And the dinner menu, c/o executive chef Ryan Pollnow:

Roasted Hen Roulade
chestnut puree, grilled pear, date jus
Hen & Chestnut Agnolotti
salumi, jujube date, pickled pear
Chocolate Custard
candied almond, chocolate crumble, coffee ice cream
Sounds like a night to remember. Happy weekend, Cakies!
