Hi, all! Jillian here. You might remember that Scott and I purchased our first home last year from this post we shared on how we styled our front porch for entertaining. Today we finally have a tiny peek at the inside! As mentioned, we had a few projects in mind immediately for our new abode, and we wanted to take the time to plan each area of the house. Being that we were both going to be sharing the same closet in our new master bedroom, upgrading the closet was essential.
We worked with the design team at The Container Store—which, by the way, was so simple and satisfying—to create a custom solution, and after going over a few elfa designs, we were ready for their installers to come work their magic. Here’s a little before and after…
Our new closet was a blank slate and didn’t even come with a bar to hang clothing, so the first few months prior to installing, we had piles of boxes stuffed with clothing piled on the floor. We were on the verge of killing each other. If you can make it through wedding planning you’re doing pretty good. But if you can make it through a home reno, your marriage is solid! That said, at the end of the day, Scott trusts me to create something that we’ll both love. I prove it to him time and time again. ; )
Birch elfa décor / White elfa Door & Wall Rack / Basic White Wooden Hangers / White Round Jute Storage Boxes with Lids / Bigso Oak Woodgrain Storage Boxes / Linen Drop-Front Sweater BoxesDon’t these look so much better than in a big pile on the floor?!
Those storage bins at the top are Jute Storage Boxes with Lids. Perfect for items you don’t wear too often but still want to be accessible. And now for Scott’s side…
Birch elfa decor / White elfa Door & Wall Rack / Basic Natural Wooden Hangers / Natural Pandan Shirt Box / Bigso Grey Woodgrain Storage Boxes / Grey Laguna Cotton Fabric Storage BinsScott’s side was all about utilizing the space for hanging. The Gliding elfa Tie & Belt Rack actually glides out so he can see all of his options at once.
These drawers seem small but fit a ton of t-shirts and lightweight pieces.
The best part is that after landing on the design that perfectly fits our needs, we were ready to install. They came out and installed three of our closets all in one day. Pretty impressive when you look at that before + after!
Can’t wait to show you more as we continue to make this home our own. I’ll be sharing our two boys’ closet and my home office next week, so stay tuned.
