Considering that they met and fell in love while working at a coffee shop in Sacramento, playing Landon Pigg’s Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop was only fitting for Nicki’s walk down the aisle. Their processional was River by Leon Bridges and they had their first dance to Warm Water by Banks (Atticus Lowe cover).
These two… We told ya, full of beautiful portraits!
Andy proposed to me in Santa Barbara, which is one of our favorite places in the world! Since it’s quite far from where we live in the Bay Area, we knew that it would be hard to get our family and friends out there for our wedding. We spent our weekends looking at tons of nearby venues and it was honestly beginning to feel like none of them were ever going to be the right fit for us… After a couple months of frustration, we ended up stumbling upon Kennolyn Hilltop Hacienda and when we saw it for the first time, it honestly took our breath away. Covered in hacienda tile and overlooking the ocean, it felt just like our favorite place. A little Santa Barbara replica in the Santa Cruz mountains, perfection!
The bride and groom built all of the copper structures for the big day, including the ceremony arbor, photo backdrop, seating chart, and even a copper polaroid wall grid. They incorporated them in such creative days throughout, but one of our faves is how they built the stand to display this custom woven tapestry by Whisker Row.
Seriously, how breathtaking is this location? The Santa Cruz mountains are so incredibly gorg.
The wedding took us about 10 months to plan. We did majority of the planning ourselves, but we had incredible support from our venue’s event coordinator, Janine (Kennolyn Events) who did an amazing job setting everything up for us the day of the wedding (shout out to Janine, we could not have done it without her!). I definitely spent quite a bit of time stressing over all of the little details and whether or not everything would all come together on our big day. When the day finally arrived, I felt so silly because that was honestly the last thing on my mind!

My best advice to those currently planning is if you are planning your wedding yourselves and feeling overwhelmed, just take a breath, step back and try to enjoy the process. It goes by so fast and before you know it, it’s already over! Try not to worry about every little detail and really trust your vendors. You chose them for a reason so let them do what they do best. Lastly, remember to be appreciative of everyone helping you. It’s so easy to forget that no one has to do any of this for you, but they are doing it because they love and care about you.
Cheers to the happy couple!
