Hiya, Cakies! Boy are we excited to reveal our latest shoot with The Black Tux today. Not only did we work with some of our best industry pals on modern, floral-inspired ideas, we get to debut one of our fave (and too often ignored) bridal looks to date: the women’s tux. Yes, yes, YES! Much as we love a pretty gown, we’re well aware that not every bride’s vision of their wedding day includes a traditional white dress. And it doesn’t have to! To celebrate the launch of this exclusive tux design that The Black Tux and BHLDN teamed up to create, we set to making wedding magic right inside our *brand new studio space*, Festoon LA.
The Kipp Blazer + Kipp Pant, available exclusively through BHLDN, is inspired by the classic tuxedo. As all good tuxedos are, its main feature is how perfectly tailored it is—only this time, with the female figure in mind.
Such a good look for other occasions, too. While we’ve mentioned all the options grooms have to rent via The Black Tux, this is an ensemble you’d get for keeps. Which is fabulous because we’re pretty sure this is one you’ll want to rock again, which can’t be said for most other wedding outfits.
(Lil’ shoutout to Of The Flowers on these killer arrangements. Can’t not take a moment to admire these blooms, you know?!)
This sophisticated blazer defines chic with its button front closure, and softened silhouette for a modern, feminine fit. The Black Tux explains, Working with renowned Italian mill Tollegno, we tweaked our merino wool to achieve the perfect amount of stretch in the fabric, providing a flexible fit. In design, we dialed back the jacket construction to soften the shoulder and silhouette, and simplified the jacket interior for the ideal drape. And we didn’t ignore the pant—a full lining gives them a cozy, silky feel.
The pants skim the ankles for a menswear-inspired look that still feels flattering and sleek. How cute are our models, BTW?
As for the top, this is where you get even more creative. Classic white? Silky (rose gold) blouse? Delicate lace cami? It *all* works.
Naturally a peachy pink cake would have to be involved…
