When you’re going through a big home renovation, it seems that the closet interior is the last thing to get planned, amiright? And almost seems like an afterthought when you’re deep in the land of bathroom fixtures, flooring, tile, etc. But let me tell you, we just finished our home renovation and the closets are likely my FAVORITE part of the renovation.
My husband and I shared a 4 foot closet for about 9 months while our home was being renovated. 4 feet! For both of us! I’m not sure how we even managed it. So when our California Closets were installed, it was like living in a new world. 9 feet of glorious space (for each of us) to organize all of our stuff! It was like Christmas when we pulled all of our clothes and shoes out of boxes and into their very own compartments.
I worked with one of their designers, Melissa George (above), on customizing every inch of the space. She asked me about the length of my dresses, how many purses, clutches, shoes, pants, etc. and we came up with a design that perfectly houses everything, down to the jewelry. After a few rounds of back and forth, getting things JUST right, the design was nailed down. A few weeks later the closet was ready to install, and that part only took a day.
California Closets has so many things available for customization. Jewelry and sunglass trays, pant organizers, valet rods (so you can easily pack for a trip!) and they all come in a variety of colors in shelving, rod colors, and hardware.
My clutches used to be all stacked together and falling over in my closet and look how satisfying it is to have them sorted into little compartments! It doesn’t take much to get me excited, can you tell?
Aforementioned jewelry tray. Now I don’t have to store my jewelry in 3 different boxes. Hooray!
My husband organized his clothes seasonally so it’s quick to get dressed in the morning depending on the weather outside.
And here’s the valet rod I speak of…
And there you have it! Organization at its finest. Thank you California Closets, for making my long time closet dreams come true!
