The light. The blooms. The tux. Guys, this formal sand dune engagement shoot (full of bridal inspo, too, btw!) is so simple yet so perfectly executed, with just a few amazing elements bringing it all together. If you saw this morning’s bougainvillea-inspired wedding, you know that a big bunch of bright fuchsia blooms always stops us in our tracks. See more by Jessica Lynn Photography below!
Jessica tells it, I decided to shoot at the Imperial Sand Dunes, because it makes for a plain, yet mesmerizing canvas to work with. Hot pink was our color of choice, because I liked the way the vibrant colors popped against the neutral color of the sand. I wanted my couple to stand out among the limitless scenery and for the colors to complement the warm California sunset.
The Imperial Sand Dunes are located in the very SE corner of California, if you haven’t been!
The bridal bouquet recipe: Ophelia Floral Co used pink Floyd roses, quicksand roses, white majolica spray rose, assorted ranunculus, pink + white snowberries, hellebores, coral charm peonies, campanula, Israeli ruscus, & spirea all wrapped with a plant dyed silk ribbon by the poetry of silk.
Playful, loopy pink and gold calligraphy a la Rosy Avenue Calligraphy graced the shoot, too.
So pretty! The bride’s dress is Maggie Sottero ‘Charlene’ from Bridal Elegance, with braids and waves for her hair by Aubrey Laine Artistry.
Now, just imagine an entire wedding following this romantic look…
