Happy almost 4th of July, all! There’s so much more to this stylish city elopement story Erin of E Schmidt Photography sent over than this sweet portrait, but we kinda had to pencil it in for this most festive week, you know? Rather than focus on a theme or design for their shoot, they decided to use the city as their muse and channel how the entire wedding day would look, from one moment to the next. Really so cool for a city elopement or even to inspire an on-the-go engagement shoot:
The story includes their couple heading over to their fave local record store, People’s Records, to choose an album for their first dance.
Such a pretty little cake by Sweet Heather Anne for the occasion.
The couple gets ready in their loft in Detroit’s Eastern Market, which is actually a rad Airbnb!
They head off to the courthouse to exchange vows and pop a celebratory bottle, vibrant bouquet by Jen House Design in hand.
Afterward, cocktails at Gather Detroit are in order. Such a neat space!

And did we mention how much we adore the bride’s flirty, short wedding dress from BHLDN? It’s for sale right here. Congrats to the happy couple (who are actually engaged at the moment), and wishing you all a safe and celebratory 4th of July!
