Modern, minimal, French, and tropical? Before seeing the images Elodie Winter shared, it’s tough to imagine so many of our fave deets coming together seamlessly in one design. She, along with stylist Majenia and Capucine Atelier Floral, was inspired by the end of a long winter and the beauty in simplicity. From decadent chocolate next to raw food to delicate lace with a graphic plunge and sophisticated jewels with a modern cut, every detail is made to contrast. As Elodie told us—it’s all about opposite elements that look even more beautiful when set together, like a couple themselves.
Majenia based the invitation suite off of the urban vibe and clean lines of the venue.Elodie Winter tells it, The vision was to create a modern, graphic, urban yet still wild and poetic editorial. Obviously, we needed the right place with a minimalist feel which we found at the Wurth Museum in France. Its gigantic concrete walls were the clean and cold backdrop we were looking for to mix perfectly with all the elements we brought.
Who needs a boutonnière, anyway?
The team decided to work with the vertical line in the wall and create their design for the altar with that in mind. Cécile of Capucine Atelier Floral made it happen by mixing textures and colors along with natural and dried foliage. The soft tones played up their minimalist vibe and added warmth to the scene.
Each element throughout maintained a focus on shape + texture.
I think brides should always take the time to pose and feel confident and fantastic about it. Anais’s hairstyle from Le Salon By Lilou made a simple but graphic statement. Makeup by Kevin Vagnair made her look even more like a doll yet kept all the freshness a modern design required.
Nothing like dried palms and coconuts to inspire a contemporary earth tone color palette.
Modern and French and tropical and minimal, yes it can be done!
