You all caught this amazing winter wedding party fashion last week, right? Gah, Alexandra Elise Photography sure has shared some dreamy weddings with us as of late—this time it’s even more autumn elegance for you to be inspired by. Lisa & Jay said I Do at The Wintergarden in Rochester with 350 guests back in September, with the help of Events by Jen. Their neutral color palette with pops of deep red and green added so much beauty and warmth to the already stunning space:
Ivory, grey, and other natural tones complemented the white venue that Arenas Florist decked out with festive arrangements.
Jay proposed to Lisa in NYC during the previous holidays—after a few foiled attempts at surprising her in the busy city. First, there was a proposal *right next to them* in Rockefeller Center, then they ran out of time before The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. After carrying the ring around in secrecy during a 3-day trip, Jay spontaneously popped the Q when a stranger agreed to snap their photo on the very last day. The woman even caught it on video, and everyone around cheered. Kudos to Jay on keeping it together and making it happen!
Lisa says, Our cake and pastries were made by Savoia Pastry Shoppe (my family’s bakery). It was a 5-tier cake that was decorated with rose gold edible leaf paper. I used a pearl spray for the top tier to give each tier a different kind of texture. The second tier was fully painted in a rose gold color. The blush colored roses and the greenery tied in the florals I used in my bouquet. The pastries were an amazing assortment of Italian inspired and fall inspired selection! We had everything from a many Italian cookies to cannoli, sfogliatelle, frangipane, chocolate pomegranate tarts, caramel pecan puffs, key lime pie bars, pumpkin cheesecake, fresh fruit tarts and much more!
Lisa traveled to Chic Parisien in Miami, Florida, where her sister previously found her wedding gown, since she didn’t have as many options in Rochester. There she found a romantic Ines Di Santo gown that she added a skirt to for the ceremony. Gorg!
Perfect autumn bridesmaids alert! They all wore Lulu’s.
The bride’s fave moment was their first look. Isn’t this venue perfect for a few private moments together?
We knew we wanted to get married at the Wintergarden. We loved the vaulted windowed atrium feel. We loved the lit-up trees in the space. It had a romantic and natural vibe that we could find nowhere else! We wanted to “bring the outdoors in”. We brought in elements of light, greenery, and beautiful fall flowers as though we were outside under the stars. I loved the boho chic style for my wedding. We stuck with naturals for the majority of the linens. I wanted to bring in caramel and tan tones with a hint of color in the flowers with a lot of greenery. There were natural fruits and artichokes that were incorporated into the centerpieces. I loved the Pampas grasses that we incorporated in every floral piece. The grasses encapsulated the boho style that I was hoping to bring to life. The candles I choose were a Paris Grey color that went along with the natural tones I was going for. We hung glass globes and had firefly inspired lights hanging above the dance floor like we were under the stars. The chandeliers that hung above the head table aided to the boho look and brought in the wood elements complementing the long wooden farmhouse head tables. It all came together so beautiful and was everything I had imagined and more!
