Happy March, friends! (OMG, Is it spring yet?) Gotta say, we’re so so looking forward to seeing more colorful parties show up in the 100LC inbox as we get into the season. Even though Dart Collective‘s Prince-inspired party as captured by For The Love Of It was a winter affair, Gather Events injected loads of color and shine into their Purple Rain theme. And allll the 80s love!
As you might remember, our A-listers Dart Collective now have local HQs in three major cities: Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Austin. They launched their Austin location one year ago, so if you haven’t checked ’em out, let this be a little peek into the types of amazing festivities you can expect from them… Whether you’re in LA, SF, Austin, or enlisting Dart for your destination wedding music.
Modern floral arrangements complete with painted and dried elements. Kinda the perfect way to kick off 2019 wedding trends, right? (If you don’t know what we mean, click here.)
Meredith of Gather Events says, We did it again! A number of us LA vendors decided to blow off some wedding steam by throwing the most fun party of the year: the annual DART Collective ‘Party Down’ holiday shindig. The theme was wild and challenged us to unearth the most fun and conceptual elements of the late 80’s and early 90’s aesthetic, and present them in a way that was nostalgically rad and yet not entirely dated.
The festivities took place at Casita Hollywood, a new event venue in LA.
It was just that—iridescent cellophane, more purple than we’d ever normally care to use, neon signage, electric colors, fonts that paid homage to the Prince himself, custom cocktails and menus (anyone up for a ‘When Doves Cry’ cocktail?) and plexiglass installations in shapes that hearkened to 1989.
That purple glow.
Dart Collective’s own celebrations are personalized for each of their communities, highlighting local talent while giving guests a taste of their current music offerings. Here’s a little more info on what our Austin friends got to see last year:
Since launching their ATX operation in early 2018, Dart has worked with some incredible vendors and planners who have been pivotal in making year 1 a total success. With the help of 36th Street Events and Gather venues, they threw a mod-inspired cocktail party to say thanks to all the folks who they met in this inaugural season. Django Foxtrot and Dart DJ traded sets, playing mod-era soul and jazz with some modern classics thrown in. From local favorites like Bricolage Curated Florals and Feathers & Frosting to other fellow newcomers like Nourish, the first DartATX holiday party reflected the fresh and exciting feelings that come along with getting to know a new city and new faces. The 2019 party is sure to be unmissable!
How fun would it be to attend a Prince-inspired party? Be sure to follow Dart on insta to stay up on the news from all 3 locations + beyond!
