Who here’s planning a fall 2019 wedding? When this beauty of a backyard wedding popped up in the 100LC inbox, we had to get the scoop for all you thinking to the next (well, next, next) season. Fall weddings can be so beautiful and cozy, and we especially loved that Jenna + Cory chose not only a backyard wedding, but a brunch themed wedding with an elegant vibe! Such an undertaking for these two in their new Maine abode, but as you’ll see in Jaimee Morse‘s photos, it was a truly gorgeous day.
Jenna says, Choosing the location for our wedding was very easy—my fiancé and I had just purchased 4 acres of land in his home state of Maine to build our first—and hopefully forever—home. This space is very special and sacred to us, so we really wanted to have our celebration here, with our closest family and friends.
The ultimate brunch spread! If you are into the backyard brunch wedding idea, you’ll want to find the perfect caterer near you. They chose Aurora Provisions catering in Maine because they offered an elegant brunch spread at an affordable price and allowed them to combine it with their own alcohol (a major budget saver, no matter your venue!).
There is something so elegant about having beautiful calligraphy in a backyard setting. It’s completely unexpected and elevates the entire vibe. It also helps you keep a cohesive aesthetic throughout. The watercolor calligraphy throughout J + C’s wedding was created by Garden Gate Lettering. Swoon!
My two big splurges, financially, were on a great wedding planner, Emily Elizabeth Events, (which was the BEST choice, I couldn’t have done it without her), and on the best photographer we could afford (because those photos will be with us forever). Our planner was able to help us save money in other areas, as well—such as sourcing rented items for our tablescapes and props.
Their ceremony took place in the field on their property, and guests could walk straight over to the tented area to mingle and enjoy donuts and brunch apps before sitting down to their meal.
Our bride’s budget saving tip: She used some of the lovely gifts she received during her garden-themed bridal shower to decorate their space. Since it was their own backyard, gifts like beautiful planters were items they could use for the wedding and then keep as permanent fixtures in the space!
Keeping their guest lists to under 50 also allowed them to enjoy an intimate wedding with their closest friends and family without compromising on the look and feel of the day.
So cute! See more photos from Jenna + Cory’s backyard brunch wedding in our gallery:
