We’re thrilled to share this super sweet bab(ies) shower today for our good friend Jaimi who is having twin boys in a couple months! We’ve been SO looking forward to this event! Jaimi’s gal pals Janel, Catherine, Kendra, Sarah, Anna and Amanda put together a sweet celebration for this special mama.. from the delicate dried flowers, delicious sweets, and soft neutrals, it’s all delightful. (And perhaps would even be good inspo for a bridal shower as well!) Read along for more details, and gorgeous photography from our dear Heather Kincaid.
The event was held at Amanda’s house, which subsequently matched the shower colors to a T. Jaimi loves animals, and is a marriage and family therapist with a keen intuitive side, so the theme “Spirit Animal” was born (pun kind of intended). Handmade wooden animals in pairs of two adorned the tables and pairs of Zuni fetishes were tucked inside muslin bags as favors. Zuni festishes are small carvings that serve a ceremonial purpose and are a form of contemporary Native American art.
The shower team, plus our queen mama Jaimi!
All of the darling florals you see sprinkled throughout the party were created by Jayne of Still Carnations. Every single arrangement was so thoughtfully nuanced and set the tone for our neutral color palette.
DESSERTS! Everyone’s favorite part of an event, right? Jaimi is gluten-free, so Cake Monkey Bakery made the most delicious GF cake, which we topped with cute little wooden bunnies and some dried florals. And Path and Provisions made GF brownies (that were literally to die for!), as well as cheesecake bites and GF chocolate chip cookies.
We served up homemade cucumber mint limeade and honey hibiscus shrub (spiked with tequila for the non-preggo guests) by Path and Provisions, as well as natural biodynamic wines.
Heather Taylor Home was our go-to for linens for the event. We love all of their patterns and colors and decided to do a fun mix of napkins for some extra texture. We love how they look all together! And the cream gingham tablecloth added just the right amount of softness to the dessert table. So much good (and beautiful) food from Path and Provisions! We were all stuffed to the brim. Natalie shopped the farmer’s market for all the seasonal produce and edible flowers for the salad, and artfully arranged every bite.
We had a few guests that showed up unannounced, which is fine, because they happened to be the cuuuutest ever. PUPPIES! Puppies should be at every shower, if you ask us.
Hi papa Matt!
Leave it to our girl Sarah to come up with a baby shower DIY that looks THIS good, and is sentimental to boot. Each guest wrote a “wish” for mama, and attached it to cotton fabric with tassels from Hobby Lobby. (Who wants Sarah to make these and sell them tho?)
Love x 10000.
Here are our Zuni fetish favors, all packaged up with muslin bags and tiny dried flower bouquets.
What a heartfelt celebration for our dear friend! We can’t wait to see meet these baby boys (and see their adorable nursery)! Hope you all can find bits of inspiration for your own events in here!
