Be prepared to swoon, Cakies. This soft, romantic wedding editorial coming to us from 100LC guide members Ugo.Photography, A Rose Inspirations, and Laura Jayne Bridal totally revived our love of watercolors in weddings. Remember when that was the biggest trend? Well, this crew reimagined it for 2020 weddings, and let’s just say we’re pretty on board with a watercolor comeback. See why below!
They let the artwork and stationery by Becca Cosgrove guide their watercolor theme, including a portrait of this lovely venue. Isn’t her work stunning?
From the team: We wanted to highlight the beauty of nature changing all around us with a soft and delicate palette based on the inspiration of another love of ours; that of watercolor painting. One aspect of watercolor’s beauty is a very simple element; that of the water! It has a way of making tones fluid and move along the art paper which feels so representative of the changes during fall: movement, ever-changing tones and falling leaves.
Absolutely in love with the movement in this airy gown from Catherine Langlois Bride.
Sigh!
The delicate gold hairpiece is by Laura Jayne Bridal.
Using fall tones as a basis for creative design and drawing on art in its many forms, the style shoot was a beautiful representation of the collective talent of so many hardworking wedding professionals in the Greater Toronto Area. The beautiful stately columns and building of LaSalle Banquet Centre surrounded by greenery which was gently changing seasons. The soft yellow, red and orange tones provided a beautiful backdrop for bridal portraits, the ceremony and tablescape design. Fresh back from a Sinclair and Moore workshops, Bloom Scout was bursting with stunning floral ideas, incorporating warm autumnal colors into her beautiful statement ceremony floral installations, bouquet and centerpieces. Everything she created embraced movement and a natural ‘wild’ fall factor of brush, leaves and grass.
These menus!!! So pretty.
And for dessert, Sweet Avenue Cakery was loosely inspired by the artistic sweets at Chicago’s three Michelin star restaurant, Alinea. So interesting and pairs perfectly with the fine art feel of the entire wedding.
