This sweet, intimate first birthday party Dmitri + Sandra Photography sent our way is totally making us wish we were on Maui right about now. But what’s new? Baby Amaia’s fam teamed up with Couture Events to make their beautiful beachfront property even more beautiful for a thoughtful family-only affair. The result was a beachside celebration with the prettiest details, a nod to mermaids, and of course, lots of Maui flair.
First they created a bohemian lounge with vintage kanthas from Tropical Bohome.
Haku Maui set up their beautiful Haku bar for guests to decorate their own floral crowns. Side note, how fun would this be for a Maui bridal shower or destination wedding?!
So so sweet!
Garnish Events offered up a few tasty drinks and local company Valley Isle Kombucha brought in their own creations.

From the team: The best part of this event was getting to know the family. This intimate birthday party was comprised of immediate family only. You could feel the love they have for each other. It was a laid back relaxing day in their backyard crafting lei po’o, playing board games, listening to Hawaiian music, grazing and enjoying each other’s company.
SUCH a pretty tablescape to ring in spring, don’t you think? Macrame runners looked like fish netting, Capiz shell chandeliers hung overhead with Spanish moss (symbolizing seaweed), and the light lavender napkins were tied into the shape of a mermaid’s tail.
Guests signed the pages of Amaia’s mama’s fave book as a keepsake for the birthday girl.
Cake Fanatics whipped up gluten free mermaid cakes and cookies for the festivities. One to smash, of course!
Spring is just around the corner, mamas! Happy birthday to little A and thanks to everyone below for sharing such a sweet first birthday with us today.
