Hope you all had a relaxing weekend full of family hangouts and lots of FaceTime with loved ones. We obviously cannot wait until we are all able to safely gather again, especially after seeing the incredible al fresco reception Daniel + Hanna worked with Fawn Events to pull off, featuring long all-white tables, entirely neutral flowers, and the prettiest modern boho décor you’ll ever see. Hanna is from SoCal, so she welcomed all the beach town vibes into their lush celebration at Franciscan Gardens. See all the golden, glowing photos AshGabes Photography shared below!
A bit about their style, from Laura of Fawn Events: Neutral palettes have been a favorite for our couples and we don’t see this trend changing anytime soon! And quite honestly, we aren’t complaining! This muted mixture of whites and tans gives us all the warm fuzzy feels! We love the way it compliments any backdrop, especially one as tranquil and picturesque as Franciscan Gardens. Our bride Hanna is one of the most down-to-earth and coolest brides we’ve had the pleasure of planning with. She had a distinct style in mind for the day and hired us to swoop in & whip it all together, while fully trusting us to get creative & have fun with the design.
Such a sweet first look at Mission San Juan Capistrano.
The bride’s gown by Made With Love Bridal came with these detachable wings that acted like a modern veil and made for some seriously gorgeous pics.
Hanna explains, I knew I wanted my wedding party and bridal style to reflect the romantic, beachy and relaxed (yet timeless) vibe of the quaint Orange County coastal town that we were getting married in. I love the classic look of a black tux, and Daniel and his groomsmen looked great in their sleek black shawl collar tuxedos. Both my wedding dress and the bridesmaids’ dresses were from Australian that really embodied that simple and relaxed yet elegant style I was going for. Shona Joy‘s silky cowl neck, bias cut slip dress in a soft, neutral champagne was perfect and looked stunning on my bridesmaids.
D + H’s wedding style was modern boho, incorporating minimalist and modern custom signage and paper goods, lush and textured florals, and amazing décor details. This golden ceremony hoop with pampas and palm is too good.
Having those detachable wings also allowed her to wear her mother-in-law’s veil down the aisle.
Daniel and I met in the fall of 2015 while working together in Washington, D.C. We sat less than three feet from each other in a cramped Capitol Hill office and became friends, perhaps mostly due to our proximity. While we both developed crushes on one another, neither of us had truly thought of the other as more than a colleague until a trivia night at a popular D.C. watering hole. I convinced my friends to go to trivia night with me, knowing that Daniel would likely be there. My team lost and his won, but at the end of the night we shared our first kiss—so it was a win-win. We haven’t gone a day without talking to each other since.
An all white tablescape with lanterns hanging overhead… a total dream!
SoCal brides-to-be, Sundrop Vintage has the dreamiest collection of furniture rentals.
Gosh these tables (and chairs!!!) are just SO pretty. Such a perfect contemporary take on modern boho glam, don’t you think?
Naturally we had to share *even more* details with you all. Take a peek in our gallery!
The bride’s tip: Invest in a great wedding coordinator! Laura with Fawn Events truly did so much to make our wedding everything it was, but one of her biggest values was helping me stick to my budget (and helping me find where to cut when I needed to). Through Laura, I was able to find vendors that best fit my needs, style and budget. Also, prioritize what is most important to you. For us, a more intimate wedding with fewer guests allowed us to have the location, details and design that we wanted.
Congrats, you two!
