How stunning was yesterday’s vow renewal, Cakies? Allll the feels over here. Riding that high right into this monochromatic bridal inspiration (how about that backdrop?!) from Petite Pearl Events and Avant Garde Cake Studio with Rock Salt Photography behind the lens. This moody, romantic editorial took place at The Giraffe Shed, a unique barn in the Welsh countryside:
Pink wedding dress alert! Love these dainty ruffles:
From Margot of Petite Pearl Events: The cornerstone for this shoot was our amazing model, a bone cancer survivor who rocks her prosthetic leg, showing the world a strong, glamorous example of a diverse bride. Since celebrating our model was one of (if not THE) most important aspects of the shoot concept, we knew we wanted to give her an absolutely fabulous outfit (bold and sexy but also romantic and feminine) and it all began with the creation of a one-of-a-kind sheer gown—the rest of the concept grew up around that and all came together to support that key element.
How pretty are these floral embellishments? Marie Chandler Bridal dreamt up the bespoke dress and veil just for our bride.
Our cake designer created three stunning hand-painted tiered cakes incorporating acrylic lifts (both in the cakes and as display risers!) and then flooded the table with a gorgeous selection of mini treats. Dried foliage was used to adorn the cakes and add some fun texture along with arrangements of fresh and dried florals to finish off the dessert table and tie it all together. All of this took place at a unique barn conversion in the Welsh countryside where couples can mix the idyllic natural setting with a more modern and industrial setting. The space was absolutely perfect for our modern and edgy take on boho romance!
Which do you love more? The hand-dyed styling silks and ethereal dried floral arch as your ceremony arbor, or as a dramatic backdrop behind the head table? Actually, a ton of brides in our real weddings get to reimagine their decor for use in the reception. Probably saves you a bit on decor, yeah?
We hear from a lot of brides that love pink but worry that it doesn’t necessarily create a vibe that fits them, and their wedding. Our response? Who says pink has to be “girly”? Our goal was to produce an almost entirely pink shoot that would provide inspiration to those brides that lean more towards the modern and edgy but still want a wedding that feels romantic and lush.
To do this we used a variety of shades of pink all the way from light blush to deeper rose and even “terracotta pink”, with the majority of the tones based around a dusty rose in multiple shades. There was literally pink everywhere (in the gown, makeup, outfit, custom drape installation, flowers, stationery and even place settings) but by using a wide range of tones and shades the colour created a subtle and modern palette rather than being overwhelming.
Love how this design is centered around making wedding trends more personal to the couple… Hope you’re all empowered to do the same!
