Today’s micro wedding is for the storybooks, Cakies. From the pastel and gold balloons floating in air, and the classic yet whimsical venue to the giant disco ball suspended in the trees, we could say a collective AHH came out of our mouths upon seeing these images from Barker Evans.
Siobhan and Oliver held their beautiful intimate wedding, not quite as they had originally planned, at Aynhoe Park in England. Think ornate columns and statues, lush velvet and ostrich feathers. They decided to marry with just under thirty guests present, before the restrictions became even tighter.
This lounge and THAT lamp are deeeelightful!
Siobhan and her ‘maids all look so darling.
Wow, stunner! And that train!
The bride said:
Our vision for the wedding was traditional with a twist from the norm, something we think reflects us. We immediately fell in love with Aynhoe as soon as we stepped foot inside and could not have imagined getting married anywhere else after that. The whole weekend felt enchanting and captivating. The whole weekend was a dream, one we wish we could relive.
The wedding brought with it an extra emotion, a much more intimate feel due to the pandemic. Most of our family and friends hadn’t socialised outside of their households for months so it felt like a huge celebration in more ways than one. After overcoming so many hurdles and finally have a weekend with our loved ones after all the uncertainty made us completely appreciate everything the day gave us so much more. Our biggest struggle was the not knowing, no one had any answers and what was utterly heartbreaking was having to reduce our 120 guest list down to only 30. We feel completely for all couples that chose this year and all suppliers and hospitality who are still living through this, we loved all of our suppliers and how they helped us have our dream day and we cannot thank them enough.
And the groom and groomsmen getting-ready space…
Those suspended balloons… a DREAM right?
We always love to see a spot of guest fashion…
Be still our hearts, with this disco ball hanging in the trees!
An intimate dinner by candlelight…
I’m sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. What precious time to have with your nearest and dearest during this time, before rigorous lockdowns.
Balloons never cease to convey impact. We’ve seen them layered so many different ways, and feel like we’re always surprised by seeing new ways to use them.
Now if this isn’t the most fun party…
WOW! Starry eyes!
Thank you for sharing your big (intimate) day with us! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and love.
