Ready for an incredible COVID wedding story, Cakies? Yoga instructor Lauren and hair stylist Florent were actually engaged for two years prior to the pandemic, spending that time planning a dreamy destination wedding in the South of France. As the day approached, they knew it was time to pivot—guests couldn’t travel to California, let alone internationally—so the idea for a Malibu beach wedding was born. It was local, laidback, and with the help of Bliss Beach and Valorie Darling, the perfect intimate way to say I Do.
Love the umbrellas!
Surrounded by the rocky bluffs of Point Dume, the production design centered around low-key and carefree elegance, and the entire affair came together in less than two weeks. Bliss Beach hand made the wooden altar and provided the chic yet practical seating arrangements of large Moroccan blankets, stylish beach chairs, raw wooden palette tables, and safari-like umbrellas. Some of their florist friends provided the beautiful golden pampas, pink peonies, and petite white daisies.
Lauren and Florent LOVE Karaoke (an activity from one of their earliest dates!) so Lauren surprised him by belting out Backstreet Boys lyrics during her vows.
Oh, and the pink hair? Florent dyed it for the wedding at the request of daughter, Madeline!
Lauren wore a flowy Fame and Partners dress, which she didn’t find until *right* before the big day. During their long engagement, she tried on tons of dresses in Los Angeles, Paris, and elsewhere, but couldn’t find “it”… until this! So perfect for the boho setup, too, right?
Cheers to the happy couple!
