If you’re on the hunt for thoughtful ways to personalize your wedding, look no further than Elle and Reagan’s romantic nuptials at The White Crow among the mountains of North Carolina. Every detail had a story behind it, all developed with “their people” in mind as they celebrated I Do with a “mountainside feast” that culminated in a killer dance party, sparkler sendoff, and creative getaway. See how it all came together in these photos by Enowen Photography:
The Ceremony
Reagan’s father, a pastor, was the officiant, a bagpiper (Jon Shell) played at her father’s request, Elle carried a blue handkerchief that once belonged to her grandmother, Eleanor (her namesake), and wore a bracelet, which was a family heirloom, on her wrist. Even their dog, Lily, took part in the ceremony. The couple selected meaningful verses and poetry, which close friends recited. Lastly, their vows were handwritten and while they hadn’t seen each other’s beforehand, both went together perfectly sharing similar promises.
The sweetest shot and the happiest groom!
Wedding Details
As a creative and owner of their family business Gracious Garlands, Elle is all about making spaces warm and people feel welcome. They included many personal details to make the day meaningful and memorable for everyone, beginning with invitations designed by the bride’s mom. When it came to décor, they wanted to bring the outdoors in with lots of locally sourced flowers and greenery, moss-covered rocks from places meaningful to them, and tablescapes that integrated natural elements from the surrounding area.
The Dance Party
After the ceremony, Elle swapped her romantic Pronovias gown for a Likely NYC dress and UNC Air Jordans to celebrate with live music from Irresistible Groove. They had two cakes (including this Reese’s cake for Reagan, yum!) and guests wore colorful wigs as they danced the night away.
When it was time to turn in for the night, the couple made their way through a joyful sparkler sendoff to their a yellow BMW Thing outfitted with greenery, signs, and a horn to blow as they said their goodbyes.
