If you plan to say I Do in a spot as naturally beautiful as Big Sur, you’ll want to enlist a talented photographer to capture your celebration in all the area’s dreamiest locales. Actress Makenzie and her guy Scott, a professional lacrosse player, wanted to ensure enough time to both connect with guests and enjoy private moments together along the coast, so they opted to shoot their wedding portraits with Flora Gibson the day before. This allowed them to exchange vows cliffside in private, capture their romance without rushing (especially considering drive time between the venue and photo spots), and feel totally ready to be present with their loved ones the next day…
M + S had worked with Flora on their engagement shoot months prior, so they knew they wouldn’t regret the decision to spend more time getting all of the photos and locations they envisioned during the wedding. It also allowed the couple a bit more time to don different wedding looks, making for even better portraits.
They exchanged vows privately along the cliffs of Big Sur, which made for extra special moments before they joined friends and family the next day.
Such beautiful photos!
The next day, they got ready at their venue, Wind and Sea, excited to have the full day of friends and family without the stress of leaving the remote property to drive to the beaches.
Gorgeous dress!
The couple maximized the outdoor space and location of the venue (which accommodates up to 50) with a ceremony on the ridge, first dance on the lower deck, cocktail hour on the grassy lawn, and reception on the upper deck.
A Big Sur wedding calls for *as many* oceanside photos as one can possibly get.
Such a lovely two-day celebration!
